How It Happened
In the first quarter, a bucket from Raven Venegas gave Fontbonne the early 5-4 lead with 7:02 on the clock. From there, the Griffins dominated the rest of the quarter going on a 15-5 run with Riley Guffey's 3-pointer giving them the 20-9 advantage after one.
Fontbonne shot 61.5 percent from the floor in the first and held the Red Devils to a mere 28.6 percent.
The script flipped in the second quarter with the Red Devils this time around opening on a 9-0 run in the first five minutes and three seconds as Olivia Falls 3-point play trimmed the deficit down to 20-18.
The Griffins gained some breathing room with a 3-0 run to lead 23-18 but that'd be its final points of the quarter with Eureka finishing off the final 3:03 on a 5-0 run to tie it up at 23-23 heading into the break.
Fontbonne had its struggles from the floor in the second going just 1-of-10 and 0-of-7 from beyond-the-arc. Eureka, meanwhile, didn't fare much better connecting on just 26.7 percent of its attempts, though still outscored Fontbonne 14-3.
In the third, the Red Devils regained the lead early and stretched it out to 39-33 with 3:11 remaining on Olivia Falls' made layup. However, the Griffins owned the three minutes and change left on the clock closing out on a 10-0 run, including hitting all four of its shots to lead 43-39 going into the fourth.
They carried that momentum over into the fourth opening on a 12-2 run in the first five minutes and 16 seconds as Jillian Venegas' layup gave them a commanding 55-41 lead. It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way as they secured the 59-49 win.

- Fontbonne shot 45.3 percent from the floor and pulled down a season-high 40 rebounds.
- Eureka was limited to a 30.0 field goal percentage.
