Stafford, Venegas, and Loehr Earn SLIAC All-Conference Awards
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released its 2021 Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team and the Griffins had three winners.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released its 2021 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team and the Griffins had three winners.
Rylee Stafford and Jillian Venegas were each named to the All-Conference Third Team, while Chloe Loehr was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Stafford, a Jackson, Mo., native, had another outstanding season averaging a single season record at Fontbonne 19.9 points per game on a 37.1 field goal percentage. She also shot a career-high 93.5 percent from the free throw line which places her second all-time at Fontbonne in a single season.
She netted a career-high 32 points on Senior Day on 10-of-19 shooting. The senior guard will return for a fifth season next year where she'll look for another record-breaking season and continue to climb up the all-time points standing at Fontbonne. She currently sits in fourth place with 1,253 career points.
Venegas, a Racine, Wis., native, earns her first All-Conference award after posting 6.9 points per game and shooting 36.8 percent from the floor. On the glass, the senior dominated averaging a career-high 10.1 rebounds per game.
In her career, she's averaging 5.8 points on a 40.3 field goal percentage, while pulling down 4.4 rebounds per game.
Loehr, a St. Louis, Mo., native, is named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time as well. In her career, the junior guard averaged 1.4 points per game.
