Game Breakdown
In the first quarter, the Griffins led 15-10 at the 5:28 mark. From there, the team closed out the final five minutes on a 14-0 run leading 29-10 at the break.
Fontbonne shot 60.0 percent from the floor, connected on five 3-pionters and went 6-of-6 from the line. Stafford went 4-of-6 and 3-of-5 from downtown leading with 15 points.
It was more of the same story in the second quarter with Kourtney White's layup giving Fontbonne a commanding 32-12 lead at 7:59. They outscored the Owls 15-7 the rest of the way taking a 47-19 advantage at halftime.
The Griffins had another strong offensive quarter going 8-of-16 (50.0 percent) from the floor. Defensively, the Griffins held the Owls to just three made shots and forced eight turnovers. White was getting it done at both ends of the floor for Fontbonne with seven points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
In the third, the Griffins led 58-26 with just under four minutes remaining on Stafford's 3-pointer. The Jackson, Mo., native, had another impressive quarter with 13 points giving her 32 through 30:00 minutes of action.
History was made in the fourth at the 5:19 mark when Stafford connected on her seventh 3-pointer of the game giving Fontbonne an 80-39 lead.
The 3-pointer was her 234th in her career placing her first all-time in program history surpassing Jennifer Connelly who held the record since 2005 with 233. After a timeout, the Griffins held its lead the rest of the way going on for the 37-point win.

- Kourtney White was a force all afternoon earning her first career triple-double with 19 points, a career-high 18 rebounds, and 10 assists.
- Haley Buscher added nine points off the bench, while Kya Harbour ended with eight.

The Griffins will now take some time off for the holiday break and return to action at home on Wednesday for its first conference game against Webster on January 5th. Tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
