Game Breakdown
In the first quarter, the Griffins tied it at 7-7 with 5:49 remaining on Kya Harbour's 3-pointer. Westminster, though closed out the quarter on a 12-2 run leading 19-9 after one.
In the second, the Blue Jays got a 3-pointer from Reese Arnold giving them a 33-13 lead with 5:59 left. Fontbonne started to chip away at the lead going on a 16-4 run with Kourtney White's layup putting Fontbonne down 37-29 with just under a minute left.
Westminster added a late bucket from Amorette Rodriguez giving them a 39-29 lead at the break.
In the third, another layup from White had Fontbonne down 47-38 at 5:46. Over the next two minutes, the Blue Jays went on a 10-3 run leading 57-41 on Shelby Kurtz's 3-pointer. Fontbonne kept battling closing out the quarter on back-to-back buckets from White making it a 60-49 contest.
In the fourth, the Griffins shot 50.0 percent from the field and hit all five of its free throws but the comeback was not to be with Westminster going on for the 10-point win.
