Game Breakdown
The Griffins opened the first quarter with an 18-8 lead on Rylee Pickett's layup. They closed out the quarter on a 5-2 run with Jillian Venegas finishing it off with a jumper giving them the 23-10 lead after one.
Fontbonne shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first led by Kourtney White with eight points on 4-of-7 shooting. Defensively, the Griffins held the Red Devils to a 28.6 field goal percentage.
In the second quarter, the Griffins rallied 12-5 run stretching its advantage out to 35-15 with 4:36 remaining on Sam Foppe going 1-of-2 from the free throw line.
It was another impressive offensive performance from the Griffins in the second shooting 47.1 percent from the floor as they held its double-digit lead the final four minutes leading 45-28 at the break.
In the third quarter, the Griffins put the game away for good going on a 15-8 run taking a commanding 60-36 lead with 2:55 on the clock after Haley Buscher's jumper. Fontbonne shot 60.0 percent from the field in the third taking a 65-41 advantage into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Griffins held Eureka to a mere 9.1 field goal percentage and they were able to go on for the 32-point win.
