Nelson Earns SLIAC Newcomer Of The Year; Five Griffins In All Collect SLIAC Honors
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released the 2022-23 Women’s Basketball All-Conference selections today and the Griffins came away with five honorees.

Madison Nelson, a Blackwell, Mo., native, became the sixth player in program history to be named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year. She was also named to the Second Team.
Kourtney White was named to the First Team for the first time in her career, while Ja'mise Bailey earned Third Team honors. Newcomer Mallory Ronshausen also joined Bailey with a Third Team selection.
Nelson had a standout freshman campaign averaging 15.2 points on a team-high 51.2 field goal percentage. In conference play, Nelson posted a team-high 16.2 points per game, while shooting 55.4 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond-the-arc.
White, a Hazelwood, Mo., native, holds a 13.6 point per game average through 26 games. The senior guard also leads the Griffins in rebounds per game (8.7), assists per game (3.2) and steals per game (2.4).
In 14 conference games, White averaged 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, to go along with her 49.3 field goal percentage.
Bailey, a St. Louis, Mo., native, sits third on the Griffins in scoring putting up 13.9 points per game. She currently leads the Griffins in minutes played per game at 31.7. In the 14 conference games, Bailey averaged 12.9 points and was second on the team with 6.1 rebounds per game.
Ronshausen, a St. Louis, Mo., native, came in at semester to Fontbonne and made an immediate impact leading the Griffins in scoring at 15.5 points per game, while shooting 40.6 percent from the floor, 38.7 percent from beyond-the-arc, and 96.3 percent from the charity-stripe.
