COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - The Fontbonne University women's basketball team defeated Blackburn College this evening on the road, 55-45.
Piper Fitzgerald led the team with 14 points. She added six rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
Brianna Beamer added 13 points, going 6-for-14 from the field. She pulled down three boards, dished in five assists. Sam Foppe scored 12 points, going 3-for-7 from the field, 2-for-3 from deep and 4-for-10 from the foul line.
Kristen Kaempfe pulled down 11 boards with 10 coming from the defensive end. Ja'mise Bailey had 10 points.
Fontbonne shot 34 percent from the field, 26 percent from deep with eight made threes. They shot 53 percent from the foul line with nine made free-throws.
The Griffins host Spalding on Saturday. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
