Ja’mise Bailey Continues to Shine in Griffins Triumph Over Lyon
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Senior Ja'mise Bailey made history today, breaking the school record for most free-throws made in a season during the first half of the game against Lyon. She now holds the record with 116, surpassing the previous record of 106 set 29 years ago.
Bailey didn't stop there—she also set a new career-high with 34 points in today's 78-70 victory. In addition to her scoring performance, she posted a double-double with 10 rebounds and was just three steals shy of a triple-double.
Piper Fitzgerald contributed 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Brianna Beamer added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Kristen Kaempfe also had a strong showing, as she had a career-high eight points, she also pulled down 10 boards and blocked two shots.
Fontbonne shot 34 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range, and 59 percent from the free-throw line. Lyon finished the game shooting 35 percent from the field, 17 percent from beyond the arc, and 74 percent from the foul line.
Fontbonne improves to 3-16 on the season and 3-11 in SLIAC play.
