Men's Wrestling Hits The Mat At Missouri Valley; Beck Wins Three Straight Matches

Both Daniel Bauer and Diego McCormick wrestled at 125 for the Griffins. Bauer dropped his first match by fall against Elijah Asuncion (Missouri Valley), while McCormick was defeated by Brednan Nantz (William Penn) in a tough 12-8 decision.
In his next match, Bauer was defeated by Isaac Gawronski (Westminster) by fall. McCormick, meanwhile, won his next match by fall over Hayden Mendez (Central Methodist). McCormick then faced Cevion Severado (Grand View) and Severado won by technical fall.
Kody Kretzer wrestled at 133 for the Griffins and opened his day with a 4-2 decision victory over Brett Parson (Central Methodist). He then fell by fall against Luke Fogleman (Grand View).
In the consolation bracket, Kretzer met up with Richard Ortiz and it was Ortiz winning by major decision.
At 141, newcomer Hieu Vuu fell by fall against Caden Manion (Oklahoma City) in his first match with the Griffins. He then faced Ostin Van Voorst (Graceland) and was defeated by fall.
At 157, the Griffins had a trio of wrestlers competing in Bradyn Rawlins, Harry Rodriguez, and Joe Beck.
Rawlins was knocked off by fall in his first contest against Hugo Perez (Missouri Valley). Rodriguez had a battle against Makoa Goeas (Missouri Valley), but Goeas got the takedown in overtime for the win.
Beck took on Dylan Whitt (Grand View) in his opener and Whitt won by an 8-2 decision. In the consolation matches, Rawlins was defeated by fall against Kadyn Fleek (unattached). Rodriguez dropped a tough 7-0 decision against Anthony Erickson (unattached).
Beck, though won by fall at 2:39 over Hugo Perez (Missouri Valley) to keep his day going. His success continued against Invi Bella (Graceland) winning a tough 4-3 decision.
He won his third straight match against Colby Wilken (Graceland) by 6-4 decision, however, Anthony Erickson (unattached) spoiled Beck's run winning by 4-2 decision.
At 165, the duo of Connor Morin and Micah Dennis represented the Griffins. Morin dropped his match against Braden Peglow (unattached) by an 8-1 decision. Dennis fell by major decision against Jeraimiah Nyberg (Graceland).
Morin won his first consolation match defeating Dylan Smith (Ottawa) by an 11-4 decision. Preston Wiest (William Penn), though defeated Morin by fall in his next contest.
Dennis faced Jeff Merlo (Avila) in his consolation match and tried a late comeback but Merlo won by 4-2 decision.
Hassan Fofana started his day off with a 6-3 decision victory over Shane Duckworth (Missouri Valley) at 184. Austin Raynor (Lindenwood), though defeated Fofana by technical fall. Fofana then squared off against Trey Duhon (unattached) and Duhon advanced by fall.
