Women's soccer earns first-ever NSCAA Team Academic Award
November 27, 2012
For the first time in school history, the Fontbonne University women's soccer team was recently awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2011-2012 academic year. To qualify for the award, teams must post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Griffins women soccer team posted a 3.38 team grade point average during last year's academic year. Fontbonne was one of just two St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) women's soccer programs to receive the honor. A total of 717 college soccer teams (220 men, 497 women) from NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and other affiliations earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
