The Fontbonne University women's soccer team dropped their first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) game of the season Saturday losing to Webster University 3-1. The Griffins fall to 8-4-3 overall and 4-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
Fontbonne opened the scoring in 26th minute as freshman Savannah Davis scored on a beautiful pass from sophomore Lyndsey Godier. It was Davis' third goal of the season to go with three assists for nine points, second on the team.
Despite being outshot, Fontbonne playing into the wind took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Webster however didn't have any problems solving the wind or the Griffins in the second half as they scored three unanswered goals in a 30-minute span to grab the 3-1 win. Fontbonne junior Meggin Werner recorded 10 saves in the loss.
Fontbonne will return to the pitch Tuesday night when they play against Principia College in Elsah, Illinois at 8 pm.
