Carlinville, Ill. - The Griffins won their fourth game in a row and continue their conference win streak as women's soccer blanked Blackburn 2-0 yesterday. The Griffins lead the SLIAC with a 6-0 conference record and are now 10-5-1 on the season. Senior Tayler Pulvirenti recorded her sixth shutout on the year as the team has seven overall. With three games left in the regular season, the Griffins have already surpassed last year's win mark.
Sophomore Hannah Andrzejewski netted the game winner just before halftime in the 44th minute on a pass from senior Natalie Sipole. Linsey Klein then scored her fifth goal of the year on a pass from Maddie Tague.
The Griffins converted two of their 11 shots on goal and 21 shots overall. Fontbonne was called for 10 fouls in the game and held a 5-1 corner kick advantage. Fontbonne's defense allowed the Beavers just six shots, but none on goal.
