ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team fell 4-0 against No. 2-ranked WashU tonight. However, Makayla Hussong set a new career-high with 18 saves against the Bears.
The Bears (8-0), got things started in the first half with a goal in the 16th minute off a volley shot from Jessica Kovach. With Hussong standing tall in net, though the Griffins were down just 1-0 at the break.
WashU offense continued its pressure in the second as they scored three goals and went on for the four-goal win.
Fontbonne returns to action on Sunday afternoon against St. Mary-of-the-Woods. Kick-off at 3 p.m., from Centene Stadium.
