Kovarik Nets Second Hat-Trick On Season In Shutout Win Over Eureka

EUREKA, Ill.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team opened SLIAC play with a dominating 9-0 win against Eureka on Saturday.
The Griffins (4-5-1; 1-0 SLIAC), totaled a season-high 49 shots in the win. Molly Kovarik netted her second hat-trick on the season and is now up to a team-high 11 goals on the season.
Daniele Caruso, Emily Cardwell, Rylee Stafford, Rebecca Bass, Taylor Skaggs, and Mary Beers, netted her first with the Griffins, all found twine in the outing. In goal, Makayla Hussong picked up the victory.
At the 5:13 mark, the Griffins struck first. Caroline Neal found Kovarik and she scored her ninth on the year to make it 1-0.
From there, Kovarik, Caruso, Stafford, Cardwell, Skaggs, and Bass all scored to give Fontbonne a 7-0 lead. Kovarik and Beers tacked on two more goals in the second half for the victory.
Fontbonne returns to action next Tuesday at home against Principia. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m., from Centene Stadium.
