Women's Soccer Win Streak Gets Snapped Against Webster
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team saw its nine-game win streak get snapped in its regular-season finale after a 3-0 defeat against Webster.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team saw its nine-game win streak get snapped in its regular-season finale after a 3-0 defeat against Webster.
Fontbonne (11-6-1; 8-1 SLIAC), totaled nine shots and were led by Caroline Neal's three. In goal, Makayla Hussong made her return to the net and came away with 12 saves.
Webster (16-2-1; 9-0 SLIAC), meanwhile, captured its seventh-straight SLIAC Regular Season Title. They compiled 24 shots and were paced by Joi Wilson's two goals on three shots. Nicole Bascio added the other. In net, Alisa Coralic made eight saves.
In the first, the Gorloks got on the board at the 9:18 mark as Bascio scored her 15th on the season. Three minutes later, Darby Schaefering had a shot on goal, but Coralic made the save.
That score remained the same up until the 40th minute when Melissa Kasper found Wilson in the middle of the box and she scored to make it a 2-0 game.
In the second half, the Gorloks outshot Fontbonne 13-5 and added a late goal in the 88th minute off the foot of Wilson, giving them the 3-0 win.
Despite the loss, the Griffins will enter the SLIAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed and take on No. 3-seeded Westminster on Wednesday at home. Kick-off at 7:30 p.m.
