Game Breakdown
It took just eight minutes for the Griffins to get on the board when Krystal Kohenskey's corner-kick attempt went over the outstretched hands of Abby Swope and Alexandria Smith was right there to tip in the loose ball giving Fontbonne a 1-0 lead.
In the 14th minute, the Griffins extended it out to 2-0 when Kohenskey's cross found Molly Kovarik. The Festus, Mo., native, initial shot was blocked, but she followed it up with a one-timer from her left foot outside the 18-yard box and into the back far corner of the net for her team-high eighth goal on the year.
They made it a 3-0 game in the 21st minute as Kohenskey's shot went off the bottom of the crossbar, however, Caroline Neal was there to head it in for her seventh on the season giving Fontbonne a commanding lead at the break.
It was more of the same story in the second half with Fontbonne controlling the game throughout the final 45:00 minutes. In the 69th minute, Claire Dalton received a pass and blasted her one-timer shot from 30-yards out into the far post for her first goal on the year.
