CHICAGO, Ill. - The Fontbonne University women's soccer team tied with Saint Xavier this Sunday afternoon.
In the first period, Fontbonne had four shots while Saint Xavier had six attempts.
Both teams remained scoreless in the first period.
With the clock hitting the 20th minute mark into the second period, Saint Xavier netted the first goal of the game to grab the lead.
Five minutes later, Katie Leeker found the back of the net to tie the game, 1-1.
Saint Xavier had three more opportunities to score but failed.
Holly Pearce played 90 minutes in between posts and stopped three shots.
The Griffins will travel to DePauw on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Kick-off is set for 5 p.m.
