ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University women's soccer team fell to WashU this afternoon. The Griffins move to 4-6-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.
WashU had 17 shots in the first period while Fontbonne had none. WashU scored the first goal of the game and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead over the Griffins.
In the second period, WashU netted two more to take a 3-0 win over the Griffins.
The Griffins had their only two shots on goal in the second half but were unable to succeed.
Holly Pearce played 90 minutes in between posts and recorded 12 saves, with eight coming from the first half.
WashU outshot the Griffins, 28-2.
