St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne women's volleyball has concluded their tough non-conference schedule for 2015, in preparation for SLIAC action this week.
The Griffins fell to No. 14-ranked Elmhurst College 17-25, 19-25 and 17-25. Kristina Eason posted eight kills to lead Fontbonne at the net while Mariana Rogers served up three aces.
Fontbonne ended their four-game weekend with a very hard loss to Whitworth. After the Griffins earned their fifth point on a service error, Whitworth ended the set on a 14-0 run. The second set was much tighter as Fontbonne trailed just 13-14 before Whitworth closed out the 25-18 win as well as the 25-14 finale.
Fontbonne opens SLIAC play at Iowa Wesleyan Tuesday at 7pm. The Griffins turn around and host Lincoln Christian Wednesday at 6pm in their second-to-last non-conference matchup of the year.
