Elsah, Ill. - Fontbonne women's volleyball secured their fourth St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win in as many games tonight after defeating Principia College 3-2 in a five-set thriller. The Griffins defeated the Panthers in the first two sets before securing the 16-14 tie-breaker.
The first set was a tight one as the Griffins pulled away with the 26-24 victory, followed by their 25-22 second-set win. Principia led the majority of the third set, taking it 25-22 as well as the fourth set 25-21.
Kersten McDonough hit for 20 kills tonight while also tallying 26 digs. Wehrenberg assisted 31 times on the night with 27 digs. Libero Maddie Stadler totaled the team-high 35 digs while Kristina Easton also notched double-digit kills, recording 10 across the five-set match.
Fontbonne will try to keep their perfect SLIAC record in-tact when they travel to MacMurray College Thursday in their final regular-season matchup against the Highlanders. First serve will begin at 7pm.
