DeWitt records 2000th career assist

Lincoln, Ill. - A rough three-set match today resulted in a Fontbonne women's volleyball 18-25, 13-25 and 22-25 loss to Lincoln Christian University tonight.

The Griffins led 14-12 in the first set when LCU scored seven straight points and never looked back. Set two was all in favor of the host team as well when they scored the first 11 points right out of the gate. The Griffins managed just six kills in the middle set. Set three was tied 16-16 before LCU closed out the win on a 9-5 run.

Fontbonne senior Mandy DeWitt needed just two assists to reach the 2000 career assists milestone. The Fenton, Mo. native totaled 10 on the night, taking her career number to 2,008 in her fourth season as a Griffin. DeWitt tallied 754 assists as a freshman, 471 her sophomore season, 413 last year and has 370 so far in 2015.

Fontbonne has a week off before returning to SLIAC action when they travel to Greenville College next Tuesday, Octobet 20th for a 7pm contest.
