Women's Volleyball Drops Conference Regular Season Finale Against Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University women's volleyball team closed out its conference regular season schedule with a tough straight set loss against Greenville.

Result:

Greenville def. Fontbonne, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-13)

Records:

Greenville: (21-6, 11-0 SLIAC), Fontbonne (9-15; 6-6 SLIAC)

The Basics

Set 1: The Griffins opened with a 7-6 lead but a 5-0 run from the Panthers forced Fontbonne to take a timeout. Greenville dominated the rest of the way going on for the 25-12 win.

Set 2: The Panthers carried that momentum into the second with a 12-3 lead on a Fontbonne attack error. Greenville remained in control the rest of the way going on for the 25-16 victory.

Set 3: A double block from Ella Werner-Click and Jordan Harpel had the Griffins down 16-12. Greenville, though closed out the set on a 9-1 run en route to the 25-13 match win.

Fontbonne Leaders

• The Griffins finished with 20 kills and 44 digs.
• Kristen Kaempfe recorded her fifth double-double on the year with 10 kills, 10 digs, and contributed three block assists.
• Ella Werner-Click totaled 19 assists.
• Emma Pramik led the team defensively with nine digs.
• Jordan Harpel tied Kaempfe with three block assists.

The Griffins close out the regular season on Tuesday when they'll host Hannibal-LaGrange. First-service at 7 p.m.
