ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s volleyball team picked up its first win on the year after knocking off University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in four sets. Head coach Jimmy Stika earns first victory at the helm of the women's program.

Set Notes
Set 1: After back-and-forth action, the Griffins led 15-12 on Morgan Horrell's kill. The Eutectics answered with a 5-0 run taking a 17-15 lead.
Fontbonne regained an 18-17 advantage on Maura Oge's kill. The Griffins eventually put it away on a double block from Kelly Herr and Jadyn Fitzgerald for the 25-23 win.
Set 2: In the second set, the Griffins remained in control throughout taking a 13-9 lead on Fitzgerald's kill. They never relinquished its lead the rest of the way cruising to the 25-16 win on Ella Werner-Click's kill.
Set 3: Fontbonne held an 8-6 lead in the third, but the Eutectics went on a 7-0 run with Jenna Brinson's kill giving them a 13-8 lead. The Griffins battled back leading 18-17 after a Eutectics service error. However, the Eutectics finished the set off on an 8-1 run forcing a fourth after the 25-19 win.
Set 4: UHSP led 15-10 in the third on Kaitlyn Cid's kill. The Griffins chipped away at the deficit going on an 8-2 run leading by one. From there, the Griffins held onto its marginal lead finishing the set and the match off for the 25-23 win.
