Women’s Volleyball Voted Second in SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University women's volleyball team grabbed the second spot in the SLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The team received 74 points and four first-place votes.

"We're excited to get the 2023 started," shared Head Coach Jimmy Stika. "With us bringing back many experienced players from last year's SLIAC Tournament Championship team and a number of talented freshmen, we feel we have another chance to compete well in conference. Looking forward to another strong FBUWVB season!"

The Griffins return 13 athletes including five starters from last year's team that won the program's first conference tournament since 2005, and welcome seven newcomers.

They begin their season with an exhibition tournament at Illinois College tomorrow, on Saturday, Aug. 26. First serve is set for 10 a.m.

Hannah Gallagher, Kristen Kaempfe, and Ella Werner-Click were named to the 2023 SLIAC Volleyball Preseason Watch List.
