Six Griffins Recognized as SLIAC All-Conference
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the 2023 All-Conference awards, and the Fontbonne University women's volleyball team had six players earn the recognition.
Hannah Gallagher and Ella Werner-Click was named First Team. Jordan Harpel, Emma Harrop, and Kristen Kaempfe were selected Second Team. Amaya Earls was selected All-Sportsmanship Team.
Hannah Gallagher, a senior outside hitter, from St. Peters, Mo. was named SLIAC First Team All-Conference. She played in 31 matches this season, totaling 247 kills, 288 digs, and 42 service aces. She is currently sitting in ninth place in the SLIAC for kills with a total of 243 and an average of 2.31 per set, 10th in service aces with 42 and a 0.40 average, and eighth in points with 244 and a 2.86 average per set.
Ella Werner-Click, a senior setter, from Springfield, Mo. was named SLIAC First Team All-Conference. She started in all 31 matches played, recording 30 aces and 571 assists. Werner-Click recorded 2,000 assists during this season. She is ranked fifth in assists in the SLIAC averaging 5.09 per set.
Jordan Harpel, a junior middle blocker from Waynesville, Mo. was selected SLIAC Second Team All-Conference. She started in 31 matches this season. She leads the Griffins in total blocks with 84 and recorded 175 kills. Harpel is ranked second in the SLIAC in hitting percentage (.285), and fourth in blocks with a total of 84 and averaging 0.79 per set.
Emma Harrop, a junior libero, from Wildwood, Mo. earned SLIAC Second Team All-Conference. She started in 30 matches this season. She leads the team in service aces and digs with 54 and 288, respectively. Harrop broke the school record for most aces in a season. She is currently ranked second in the SLIAC in digs with a total of 478 and a 4.64 average per set, and third in service aces with 54 while averaging 0.52 per set. She earned SLIAC Player of the Week honors twice this season.
Kristen Kaempfe, a junior opposite, from Perryville, Mo. tabbed SLIAC Second Team All-Conference. She played in 31 matches this season and leads the Griffins in kills with 248. Kaempfe is ranked ninth in the SLIAC in hitting percentage (.220), and 10th in kills with a total of 243 and a 2.29 average per set.
Amaya Earls was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
