Chris Brown achieves personal record time at Evansville Invite
Four Griffins set personal records over the weekend.
Evansville, Ind. - Fontbonne men's and women's cross country teams were both able to race this weekend as full-fledged teams, something the men's team has been unable to do for some time now. Two Griffins garnished first-time collegiate appearances including Aaron Boyer and Alex Coggins for the men's team. Both men's and women's programs placed ninth of ten teams participating in their respective races. Each program defeated Oakland City University, a NCAA Div. II team.
For the men, junior Chris Brown set a personal best, running a little over a minute faster than his previous 8k this year and 30 seconds better than his best from the 2014 Midwest Regionals. Senior Cristian Sellars improved his 2015 8k run by 11 seconds while Tony Prospero, Aaron Boyer and Alex Coggins each ran their first collegiate 8k at the event.

Olivia Beggs improved to her time by a little over a half a second to finish in 37th place to lead the women's team. The most improved on the weekend was Jaylah Jones who improved her time from 32:11.5 to 30:40.8. Also improving at the meet was Annie McKenzie for a personal best whose previous 5k race garnished a time of 24:17.7.
