Cross Country Continues To Make Strides At The Brissman Lundeen Invite
ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams were back in action today at the Brissman Lundeen Invite.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams were back in action today at the Brissman Lundeen Invite.
On the women's side, North Central took home the victory with 67 total points. Carroll University ended up in second with 112 points, while Illinois Wesleyan closed out in third at 117. The Griffins, meanwhile, finished in 27th.
Individually, Dianne Barajas (North Central) won with an overall time of 22:02. Desiree Brooks led Fontbonne with an overall time of 28:42.9 in the 6K race.
Colleen Gosser hit a new personal record by a minute and 28 seconds to finish with a time of 29:44.5. Katie Gosser was just seconds behind her closing out at 29:50.8. Emily Bay was the next Griffin to cross the line at 31:21.8, while Tara Weiskopf-Kuehn timed out at 40:45.7.
On the men's side, UW-Stevens Point had three runners finish inside the top-10. The team cruised to victory with 43 total points. Olivet Nazarene ended in second with a team score of 95 points, while host Augustana College compiled 130 points.
Individually, Marcus Graham (Indian Hills), hung on for the win at 24:51.8. Freshman Austin Joyce was the first Griffin to finish at 30:37.8. Jacob Dixon clocked out at 31:06.2, while Juwan Lee ended the day at 33:57.5.

Fontbonne will take the next weekend off and return to action on October 6th at the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Ky.
