Five More Personal-Record Times Set At The Fast Cats Classic

OWENSBORO, Ky.—The Fontbonne University men's and women's cross country teams returned to action today at the Fast Cats Classic.
On the women's side, the Griffins ended up in 15th place. The overall winner went to Evansville with a team score of 35. Bellarmine closed out in second with 71 points, while Cumberland (Tenn.) ran its way to a third place finish.
Individually, Karly Gawarecki (Bellarmine) with an overall time of 18:04 in the 5K race. Fontbonne, meanwhile, was led by Desiree Brooks as she crossed the line with a personal-record time of 23:22.
Katie Gosser was the next Griffin to cross the line with a new PR at 25:13, while Colleen Gosser hit a new personal-record time by almost four minutes to conclude at 25:20.
Emily Bay hit a personal-record of her own in the 5K with a time of 25:43, while Tara Weiskopf-Kuehn ran her way to a personal-record time of 33:23.
On the men's side, Campbellsville took home the victory with 67 total points. Cumberland (Tenn.) was right behind them at 27:54, while Trevecca Nazarene rounded out with 108.
Lucas Huelvan (Cumberlands) won with a time of 26:06. Fontbonne, meanwhile, was led by Austin Joyce time of 32:17. Juwan Lee also just missed out on his personal-record as he finished at 35:29.

The Griffins return to action next Friday at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill.
