Cross Country Competes At The Brissman-Lundeen Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams returned to action today at the Brissman-Lundeen Cross Country Invite.

On the women's side, the University of Chicago won with a total time of 1:51:14 and 22 points. The team had all seven runners finish inside the top-10. Loras ended up in second place with 79 points, while Central College ended in third at 135.

Individually, Kassie Rosenbum (Loras) won with a time of 20:26.1. Desiree Brooks ran her way to a time of 27:17 in the 6k.

On the men's side, the University of Chicago also won totaling 38 points with five of its seven runners ending up inside the top-15. Loras College again ended in second with 78 points and they were followed by Central College with 106. Fontbonne registered its first team score on the season and ended in 24th place.

Sam Craig (University of Chicago) took home the victory finishing just 2.0 seconds ahead of Eldon Warner (University of Illinois Club) with a time of 24:43.1.

KeYonn Hall-Baker led Fontbonne with a time of 34:35.2. Cameron Clemons set a personal record by over a minute at 35:05.8. Ian Cordell also hit a personal record at 37:25.2, while Brandon Schmiedeskamp also hit a personal record in his first 8k with a time of 38:15.5.

Newcomer Ryan Augustin timed out for a personal record time of 41:16.7 in his first race with Fontbonne.
