Brooks, Schmiedeskamp, And Augustin Each Hit Personal-Records At Greenville
GREENVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams closed out its final meet prior to the SLIAC Championships today at the Greenville Classic.
GREENVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams closed out its final meet prior to the SLIAC Championships today at the Greenville Classic.
On the women's side, Heartland Community College won with 32 points with all seven runners finishing inside the top-20. Webster closed out in second with three finishing inside the top-20, while host Greenville followed in third with 74 points.
Taylor Joop (Heartland CC), hung on for the victory with a time of 19:37.84. Webster had Danielle Schultz (19:40.69) and Kyanne Williams (19:40.93) come in second and third, respectively.
Desiree Brooks had a strong race finishing in 29th with a personal-record time of 22:08.49.
On the men's side, the Greenville Panthers took home the victory with 38 points. Heartland Community College ended in second with 41 points. Fontbonne closed out in 10th place.
Gianni Estrada (Greenville) fended off teammate Kaleb Carlson for the win with a time of 26:16.48. KeYonn Hall-Baker led Fontbonne with a time of 35:27.56. Cameron Clemons just missed out on a personal-record finishing at 35:30.2.
Ian Cordell crossed the line at 38:06.98, while Brandon Schmiedeskamp hit a personal-record timing out at 38:14.6 which is just short of almost a minute PR.
Ryan Augustin also had a successful run improving his previous personal-record by two minutes and 14 seconds ending at 39:02.3.
