Track and Field Competes At The John Craft Invite
CHARLESTON, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men’s and women’s track and field team competed today at the John Craft Invite against some top NCAA Division I teams.
CHARLESTON, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's and women's track and field team competed today at the John Craft Invite against some top NCAA Division I teams.
On the women's side, after finishing in second all-time in the shot put, Sierra Moore broke her own personal-best record with a toss of 11.55 m (37-10.75) in the shot put to finish in 12th. Mackenzie Daniel finished right behind her at 10.29 m (33-09.25) for 14th.
In the 200-meter dash, Kayla Sheldon (30.78) and Jaylah Jones (33.41) both ended up in 14th and 15th place respectively. Jones went on to compete in the 60-meter hurdles and closed out in 15th with a time of 12.99. Emily Bay, meanwhile, crossed the line at 13.04 for 16th.
Brian Nguyen competed in two events to represent the Griffins. In the 60-meter dash, Nguyen closed out with a time of 7.59, which was just .05 off his personal-best time at the UINDY Winter Break Meet. He went on to run his way to a 25.64 time in the 200-meter dash, placing him in 22nd overall.
In the mile run, distance runner Jacob Dixon ran his way to a time of 5:26.98 for 16th place, while Juwan Lee timed out at 10:34.46 for 17th place in the 3K.
