Trio Of Griffins All Shine In The Pentathlon At Purdue

LAFAYETTE, Ind.—The trio of Katie Gosser, Emily Bay and Jaylah Jones competed in the Pentathlon today at the Fred Wilt Invite at Purdue University.
The Pentathlon, which consists of the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800-meter dash, saw plenty of success for the Griffins. Gosser went on to close out in 11th place, while Bay and Jones finished in 12th and 13th respectively.
Gosser, started out fast with a new personal and all-time record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 11.80. She went on to tie her personal-best in the high jump, clearing 1.30 m, while finishing in 12th in the shot put (6.88 m) and 11th in the long jump (4.15 m). In the 800-meter, Gosser just missed out on a personal-best as she clocked out at 2:59.30 for ninth.
Bay, a Union, Missouri, native, also set a new personal-best time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 12.30. She cleared 1.24 m in the high jump for 11th, while ending with another personal-best mark in the shot put at 7.70 m. Bay concluded the day with a 13th place finish in the 800-meter with a time of 3:05.76.
Jones, meanwhile, finished in 12th in the 60-meter hurdles at 12.11, which was a new personal-best time. She went on to conclude with a mark of 6.58 m in the shot put. In the 800-meter, Jones ran her way to a time of 3:04.56 for 12th.
