Track and Field Gets Its Outdoor Season Underway At The Birmingham Southern Invite
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Fontbonne University track and field team got its 2018 outdoor season started today at the Birmingham Southern Invite.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Fontbonne University track and field team got its 2018 outdoor season started today at the Birmingham Southern Invite.
Only a few competitors took part in day one down south. On the men's side, in the discus throw, Greih Murray finished in 23rd with a mark of 26.76 m. He also took part in the shot put and his toss landed him a mark of 9.34 m.
In the 1500-meter run, Jacob Dixon closed out with a time of 4:58.25, while Hayden Yates ended the run at 5:14.55.
On the women's side, Sierra Moore had herself a day, finishing in sixth place at 37.34 m. Amelia Tregoning, meanwhile, ended up in 17th at 30.31 m. Mackenze Daniel was the third Griffin to compete and her toss landed at 23.30 m.
Collen Gosser, Katie Gosser and Emily Bay represented the Griffins in the 400-meter hurdles. C. Gosser led with a time of 1:22.70, while her sister K. Gosser closed out at 1:23.62. Bay crossed the line right behind them at 1:24.45.
The Griffins will be right back at it tomorrow at the Birmingham Southern Invite as a total of 26 events are set to be completed.
