Moore, Bay, 4x100 And 4x400 Relay Teams Earn All-Conference At SLIAC Championship
GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Fontbonne University track and field teams competed at the SLIAC Championship over the last two days. The Griffins saw the women’s team end up in third while the men closed out in seventh.

On the women's side, multiple All-Conference awards were handed out. Sierra Moore collected a third place finish and her first All-Conference award in the discus with a toss of 35.30 m. Amelia Tregoning (30.65 m), Mackenze Daniel (25.19 m) and Emily Bay (23.16 m) also competed in the event to finish in 8th, 12th and 14th place respectively.
In the shot put, Moore picked up the win with a personal-best toss of 11.57 m. Daniel came up just short of her personal-best but still finished in fifth at 10.54 m. Daniel competed as well in the hammer throw and closed out in seventh place at 38.20 m, which is a new personal-best mark.
Another All-Conference award was handed out to Emily Bay in the javelin. After picking up her first win earlier in the season in the same event, Bay finished with a toss of 30.33 m for third place. Teammates Moore (24.11 m) and Katie Gosser (22.08 m) rounded out in ninth and 10th.
In the track events, the team of Kayla Sheldon, Bay, Colleen Gosser and Katie Gosser earned All-Conference honors with a personal-best of 55.37 for third place. They went on to earn its second All-Conference award in the 4x400 relay with a personal-record time of 4:40.14 for third.
In other field events, Colleen Gosser ended up in fifth in the pole vault (2.13 m). In the long jump, Bay (4.46 m) and K. Gosser (4.20 m) both set personal-records to finish in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Jaylah Jones broke a record of her own in the triple jump at 9.48 m for fifth.
Rhoads ran her way to a time of 24:32.49 in the 5000-meter run. K. Gosser led the Griffins in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 20.17. Bay (20.20) and Jones (21.04) both set new personal-best times, while C. Gosser crossed the line at 23.21. C. Gosser also ran her way to a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:12.11.
In the 100-meter dash, Bay nearly had another new personal-best time but she finished at 14.54 just .04 off her record. Kayla Sheldon finished in sixth and collected a point for the Griffins in the process with a time of 2:43.43 in the 800-meter dash.
K. Gosser led a trio of runners in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:22.36 for ninth, while she was the lone competitor for Fontbonne in the 200-meter dash and finished in 10th (29.37).
On the men's side, the lone point for Fontbonne came in the 4x400-meter relay as the team of Quinn Wilson, Hayden Yates, Juwan Lee and Jacob Dixon crossed at 4:06.23 and that's a new personal-best for the group.
In the triple jump, Quinn Wilson leaped his way to a final mark of 111.75 m for ninth. Greih Murray, meanwhile, had a busy stretch for the Griffins.
He competed in the hammer throw and closed out at 27.64 m for 11th. His toss of 26.71 m in the javelin placed him in 11th as well, while in the shot put, Murray hurled a toss of 9.36 m for ninth.
In the 10000-meter run the duo of Jacob Dixon (39:19) and Juwan Lee (42:36) stood out with two new personal-best times.
The team now makes the turn for the final month on the season and they'll get back at it next Saturday at the Kentucky Relays.
