4x100 Relay, 4x400 Relay, Moore And Bay Collect All-Conference Awards; Colleen Gosser and Lee Earn All-Sportsmanship
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The SLIAC announced the women’s track and field all-conference honorees this afternoon and the Griffins came away with a few selectees. The 4x100 relay team, the 4x400 relay team, Sierra Moore (shot put, discus) and Emily Bay (javelin) earned the honor.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The SLIAC announced the women's track and field all-conference honorees this afternoon and the Griffins came away with a few selectees. The 4x100 relay team, the 4x400 relay team, Sierra Moore (shot put, discus) and Emily Bay (javelin) earned the honor.
The quartet of Kayla Sheldon, Emily Bay, Colleen Gosser and Katie Gosser earned All-Conference honors in the 4x100 relay after posting a personal-best time of 55.37 at the SLIAC Championship. That time also ranks second best all-time and 36th nationally.
The team also shined in the 4x400 relay after timing out at 4:40.14, placing them third all-time in the record books and 36th nationally as well.
Moore, meanwhile, had a dominant first year with the Griffins. She closed out the shot put at the SLIAC Championship with a win after finishing with a mark of 11.57 m. In the discus, she finished in third at 35.50 m, though her best toss came at the Sewanee Mountain Laurel Invite, 35.89 m.
Bay earns the All-Conference award after posting a third place finish in the javelin at the SLIAC Championship with a toss of 30.33 m. Her best toss on the season came at the Sewanee Mountain Laurel Invite at 30.48 m.
Colleen Gosser and Juwan Lee were also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
